Rentals

Boat types include kayaks (for one) and canoes (for two). Rental rates are $40 per canoe and $20 per kayak and include boat, paddles, shuttle service, and life jackets. An additional shuttle fee may be charged for longer trips. Additional accessories may be rented for $5 each. Standard day trips are 5, 7, or 14 miles. Standard overnight trips are 20 or 28 miles leaving Saturday morning and arriving at TRO on Sunday afternoon. Other trip lengths/multi-day trips are available upon request. Custom trip pricing may vary. Private, secure parking is included for all renters.

Canoe/Kayak Shuttle

Private boater shuttle is $10 per boat within 5 miles. Shuttle charges vary with trip length.

Hours of operation

Open Saturdays from April through October, weather permitting. Reservations suggested for Saturdays. Reservations required for all other days. Weekday trips may be available for groups of 8 or more with 2 weeks notice.

Last trip out at 1 p.m. All boats are to be returned by 5 p.m. sharp.

Saturdays: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Most Sundays: 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Groups

Churches, scouts, and other groups are welcome! We can easily accomodate groups of 50+ paddlers.

What to bring

Be sure to wear good footwear. As on any sunny day, pack your sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Don't forget beach towels in case you get wet. You may also want to pack food and drinks. There is a travel center located at Exit 205 on I-20.

New Facilities

TRO is better in every way. Our new shop, complete with changing room, restooms, and outdoor shower is now available. We have expanded our retail space and have canoes and kayaks avaialble for sale. We have also added a 15 passenger van to our fleet to get you on the water even faster.

Payment

Cash and check payment only. Payment expected at time of arrival.

River Rules

Liability waiver forms must be signed before any services are provided. If any member of your group is 18 or younger, please print this waiver and have it signed by a parent or legal guardian BEFORE arrival. Both the child and legal guardian need to sign the waiver prior to arrival at TRO. Kids need to be at least 5 years old to participate in river activities at TRO. Download the TRO Agreement-Release. You will need an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) compatible reader to open the waiver. If you are unable to open the file, please download Foxit Reader or Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The use of alcohol, drugs, and firearms are strictly prohibited.

It is your responsibility to read, understand, and observe all rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to outdoor and water recreation. Life jackets are required.

Please help us keep the river clean. Place all trash in your boat. Trash recepticals are located at the takeout point.
