Rentals

Boat types include kayaks (for one) and canoes (for two). Rental rates are $40 per canoe and $25 per kayak and include boat, paddles, shuttle service, and life jackets. Additional accessories may be rented for $5 each. Standard day trips are 5-7 miles. No trips on Saturday beyond a 7 mile put in location. All longer trips departing on Friday must have prior reservation. Private, secure parking is included for all renters.

Canoe/Kayak Shuttle

Private boater shuttle is $10 per boat within 7 miles.

Hours of operation

Open Fridays and Saturdays from April through October, weather permitting. Reservations suggested.

Last trip out at 1 p.m. All boats are to be returned by 5 p.m. sharp.

Fridays: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturdays: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Groups

Churches, scouts, and other groups are welcome! We can easily accomodate groups of 40+ paddlers.

What to bring

Be sure to wear good footwear. As on any sunny day, pack your sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Don't forget beach towels in case you get wet. You may also want to pack food and drinks. There is a travel center located at Exit 205 on I-20.

Payment

Cash and check payment only. Payment expected at time of arrival.

River Rules

Liability waiver forms must be signed before any services are provided. If any member of your group is 18 or younger, please print this waiver and have it signed by a parent or legal guardian BEFORE arrival. Both the child and legal guardian need to sign the waiver prior to arrival at TRO. Kids need to be at least 5 years old to participate in river activities at TRO. Download the TRO Agreement-Release. You will need an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) compatible reader to open the waiver. If you are unable to open the file, please download Foxit Reader or Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The use of alcohol, drugs, and firearms are strictly prohibited.

It is your responsibility to read, understand, and observe all rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to outdoor and water recreation. Life jackets are required.

Please help us keep the river clean. Place all trash in your boat. Trash recepticals are located at the takeout point.
